Created by the Asante people who resided in the West African regions, what is now Ghana and Côte d’lvoire, the adinkra symbols were to express the virtues of the Ghanaian culture through figurative language. This throw pillow features the “fawohodie,” which represents freedom, independence and emancipation. The liberation of one’s ability to chart their own course.
